Jon and Vangelis Bootlegs

Beware: this information is not intended to share music, nor the images. It is only used to give a as complete as possible of the collaboration between Jon Anderson and Vangelis. Bootlegs are illegal, buying them does not support Yes, Jon nor Vangelis in any way. Mostly bootlegs does not have a good soundquality. There are three different kinds of bootlegs as it comes to Jon and Vangelis. Yes-bootlegs, Jon Anderson bootlegs and Jon & Vangelis bootlegs. As said before, Jon Anderson is leadsinger of Yes, there are some bootlegs with this connection. Three of those are:

- The Alternate Generator: Some sources say this item is released in 1987. The tracklist consists of 13 tracks, five of them are Jon and Vangelis tracks. Track number 9 should be “Let’s Pretend” but instead it is some undifined synthriff. This bootleg might be made in Italy. Sound quality is quite good, this CD is rare. The booklet says it has 300 copies worldwide. The last track should be “Distant Thunder” but it is “The Arms of Love”.

- Sweet Dreams: This obscure album is called “Sweet Dreams” but it is not the bootleg which is recorded live in 1975 in London. There is really no connection with Vangelis, other than the tracklist tells us that the CD should contain “Each and Everyday” from the “Short Stories” release. Instead of this track it is a Yes song. The rest of the tracklist is not very accurate. This CD is real rare and its soundquality is not good.

- The Sky and his Shadow: This is a live recorded album, with long tracks. There are only rumours, and only that, that Vangelis is playing on this album. There are many, many bootlegs made by Yes fans throughout the world, and some of them are also releated to Vangelis. It is most likely this three examples are not the only ones. If you have more information, please write me! Next to all these bootlegs, there are five bootlegs known with songs on which Vangelis is playing and Jon is singing. These bootlegs are: Jon and Vangelis Demos Golden Collection (with legal released material) Page of Life with material from Page of Life, it has “Wisdom Chain” and “Page of Life” both in two different versions and “Sing with your Eyes”.
