Les sentinelles  oubliees

This is the last co-operation between  Frédéric Rossif and Vangelis.  This documentary was broadcasted just after Rossif's death. Les Sentinelles Oubliees (The Forgotten Sentinels) tells the story of the rising of communism and fascism starting in the '20 and '30 in the USA. It consists of many black and white footage, combined with interviews with elderly people who has lived in the USA at the time. The music is cut into very small pieces of some seconds. It is previously unreleased. The music is very experimental and reminds of the snippets in Neuremberg a Neuremberg. The end theme is also used in Morandi.

This unnamed animated film was made in order to promote the Olympics to come to Greece in 1996. It was broadcasted on  Greek television. The time of broadcasting is also unknown, but most likely it was 1990.

Many lists state Vangelis made music for tis film. This is untrue. He never made any music, not even stock music.

 

Jacques Cousteau

Vangelis recieved an award for this music. The famous German boxer Henry Maske used the main theme for his fights.

Also known as "Full Coulour". Nice and funny Bollywood movie about love. Lots of dance, music and overacting. The original "End titles of The Bounty", which is released on the Themes cd (1989) is used as background music as the main characters enter a hotel. Vangelis is uncredited.

The main titlemusic of the film is released on the CD "Odyssey" (2003) This film is also known as Cavafi (France) The rest remains unreleased.

 

Koyla

Koyla is premiered 18 April 1997. Rakesj Roshan, the man who also directed "Kaho Naa...Pyaar Hai" used variation of themes performed by himself from "1492 Conquest of Paradise", as well as original Vangelis tracks from the same album. Rakesj is accused for plagiarism several times.

In 1997 the Atletics Worlds Championship was held at Papathinaikon  Stadium in Athens. It has been televised im more than 200 countries. Vangelsis directed, orchestrated and staged the opening ceremonies, together with Montserrat Caballé and her daughter.
